Courageous People Needed
Days and nights slip slowly by, and humanity continues to lose touch with the reality of who they are. As we open our arms to "tolerance," we close the door on morality. Morality, what is this word? Truly, there is no clear definition of it anymore. There is basic human decency, yes, but morality has been tossed aside, and a societal opinion has been adopted as the giver of truth. Today, the world cares more about money, power, and sexual immorality. Anything that places these things into a negative outlook is rejected and mocked. This can, of course, be expected as the prince of darkness is ruler over this broken and jaded world. However, as many people do not even believe in God any longer, how could they ever believe in the puppeteer that smiles darkly behind the scenes? They can't, and as long as followers of Christ stray into the emptiness of religion, there will be no change. The body of Christ has been divided, the legs no longer work with the arms, and the feet have forgotten what it is to walk. Religiosity has decimated the example that Christians were always supposed to give. Now, a perverse, twisted, and compromising version of Christ's gospel has been initiated by hell. So, when the church has lost its potency (not all but many) and society has collapsed into the mires of depravity, where can we turn? Where is there hope to be found, good sense to be gained, and redemption to be discovered? It is where it has always been for nearly 2000 years, at the cross.
Now here comes the mindset of new age thinkers: "You mean the cross that held a pretend Savior?" Pretend Christ is fake, God does not exist, and whatever other excuse today's world can give to more deeply embrace their sins. God is not impossible. With the complexity of life, of us humans, and the overwhelming evidence of Christ's existence, death, and resurrection, how can people so easily toss Him away? Because the cross holds one responsible for a certain way of life, and people do not want to be told that the sinful joys of their lives are wrong. So, if God and His Son are more than possible, then what's up? It is a lack of desire for morality that comes to mind. It is not a question of God existing or not existing. The cross lifts a standard, and with the rejection of God, the world is free to partake in the endless buffet of carnal desire. So, rejection all around, and satan rejoices as the world forgets its origins. The world was meant to love one another, shine for Christ, and those who do not know Him were meant to be lovingly given truth. If Christ had preached homosexuality, pornography, murder, and dishonesty, the world would embrace the idea of this Savior. Churches would be fuller, Bibles would be sold out, and there would be no lack of people stepping out into society to share this "wonderful" news.

Sad, but true. We have all lost touch with the purpose of our existence. Believers and nonbelievers alike. No, the world may not get much better than it is now. Darkness prophetically must worsen, and disbelief must deepen. However, people who profess Christ do not have to stand by and let it come easily. We as believers must rise against the coming flood, lay down the chains of man-made religion, and proudly proclaim the gospel of Jesus. Many will be lost, few will be saved, but I, for one, do not wish to stand idly by and just let people walk headlong into damnation.
Christ is the lifeboat offered to the world; all have the chance to be plucked from the raging seas, and we as Christians are commanded to share this truth with the world. Maybe they will reject it, maybe we will be mocked, maybe we will even be killed. But, as Psalms 84:10 says: "Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked." Let us, we who truly love God, walk forward in courage and separate ourselves from this dying world. No, I do not mean abandon the broken, the chained, and the fooled. But, to live a God-centered life, apart from sin, is the greatest thing we can do for anyone we hope experiences salvation. Join me, pray with me, and let us reclaim this world for its creator in the strength given to us by Jesus.
